in space this statement is false, the line can be bent so that the two points touch. i think that the y-axis 400 and 600 should be one and the same(the same goes for x 400 and x 600 and for z 0 and z 100 [not sure how high z axis goes]). i.e: a guy at 500/500/10, wants to go to 500/500/80. instead of going up through 70 sectors he should go down making the journey 30 sectors apart. in the com list the distance should be the shortest route (in this case it is 30 sectors not 70 sectors) what do you think???

The shortest DISTANCE between two points is a line.

And what you refer to is theory, not fact. It is a fact that light waves may be bent by gravity, and some scientists believe that this could be used to our advantage in future space travel. (I think it is bv11$#!+)

I dont like the idea of changing the game in this manner. I believe that it is to be assumed that warp ship programs take all of that into consideration while calculating a route, so you don't have to.

Whoa, I shouldn't read this in the middle of the night, it makes sooo little sence

But anyway, I don't think they should change the game with this

Besides the shortest way is still a line. Gravity just bends the line not the light waves. As for warp engines, I guess they go alot faster then light, so the bending effect will be so much less. You would need a black hole the size of a galaxy to bend something with that speed.

@kamikaze- When I said "Bv!!$#!+", I was not referring to you and your idea. I was saying that the theories regarding bent space and shortcuts are incorrect, in real life.

This is a game, though, and real life principles and laws do not apply.

And I'm sorry I made you cry.
