decodification probe

a probe who say you exactly what ships got the fleets, very fast but with a poor scanradius.
(example: fleet 1: 100 fighters, 10 mosquitoes/4 destroyers, 2 campaign ships, 1 scout/40 cruisers/1 mothership, 1 defensive array, 1 research center, 1 doomstar)

scanradius: 5

speed: warp 40

researchtime: 3 d

needed research:
shipyard

battle details:
battle engine syntax:

I agree with Mr. Starlight, it will be to easy if you know which ships are exactly in an opposing fleet.
Maybe it can be constructed in a way which doesn´t offer too much information and you can only gain information about just one class and which ships your opponent has in this one...

this is a discussion of the last days:
should we build probes to check out the fleet composition ?

i think no, because:

-hiding your strategy can be usefull and is part of gameplay (in most games you hold your strategy hidden until you attack (card games etc.))

-dsp -data is a lot of information already (some can read the fleet strategy from a dsp-data... for example : 0 1005 1 1 )

- it's some kind of realistic that you need to send in a small recon squad to determine the real strenght of the enemy (scout, flying saucer, or 1.1.1.1 -fleet)
-> this option is ok for checking out the enemy, and i like it

- fooling your enemy dsp-data by using jammers and low-cost ships is fun too.
