galactic finder (class 4 ship)

this ship simply explores the galaxy, you can programme it to 6 coords, it will go to those coords, put out an investigation probe and a dsp if you tell it to, and return to your base afterwards

attack/life: 0/100
manpower: 100

speed: warp 6
(can only establish a warpfield for itself)

researchtime: 1 d
buildingtime: 12 h

needed research:
improved field theories

there is no syntax that says a ship can be a probe, so i didn't use a modifier,

also i cannot believe no one thought of this before, it is fundemental to all space games, i know there is probes but still...

it would help a little if you want to find a fleet in space.

indeed, this idea was there before, but unfortunately it would be a lot of programming into the engine to do this, cause ships and probes are two different things

yes that is a lot of programming but why dont we put this on a ship and every time the ship or fleet stops a this baby does its thing till it needs to be destroyed then it blows up the ship it was on.

when it gets built it fixes onto a ordinary ship or a custom ship that we will invent then when you send it to a fleet and the fleet moves each time the fleet stops at some place or in space it realles a probe and if that ship gets blown up it gets blown up and when its out of probes this blows up the ship it was on.

I like it too.. but it would be hard to implement a probe-deployer ship into the game.

Seems to me like the pyramid device/eye in the sky serves as the "DSP deployer"
And I don't think the investigation probe deployer is really needed...

i fully agree, the pyramid/eye is a ds probe on a ship.

this is like building a ds probe with a huge scan radius. why not just put a seti scan at the black hole that lets you view the entire galaxy. or a galaxy view ds scan at the pulsar.
