Many thanks to xyz, toc, sc, and my own ns members for making this one of the more memorable and balanced rounds thus far.
There were times where ns surged ahead, almost out of control, and we cut down our aggression and activities to avoid getting too far ahead. Esp. when I unexpectedly "found" that huge c3 fleet off the bh with 5 dreads (and more) in it for > 4k points. And any newbies spawning close to us get left out of our aggession too. |

haha. i think that dread fleet was mine.
i know i had a reason for having that much dreads, but i can't remember what it was anymore
I agree, it was a good era. The game has changed though. Does anyone remember when they last had a battle at someone's base? I think i haven't even had one this era. |

I will try hard to correct the problems with no battles except at the score planets |

Our fc battles were the last major base battles IMHO but, was before our fc's all got put into the st boondocks Next evo think I may do human to try some counters on some overbearing kazu jam spammer
It was a good time for new ideas and concepts, among these tried out:
1) Deceptions
2) "Balance of power" to avoid losing newbie interest from overdomination by any alliance.
3) myc and/or nanite as fc's
4) taking intentional losses and or "delaying actions" as battle alternatives.
5) hitting target stacks to set them up for taking out a 3rd party incoming.
Due to secrecy policy #1 details will wait until the end of the round _________________ "Destruction leads to a very rough road

deceptions huh? sounds intriguing.
i have a number 6 to add to your list. it's pretty groovy, but it too must wait a few days.
I guess XYZ is now officially out of the competition for the top 2. I already have plans for the next era, so i'm expecting a sharp start from everyone.
cheers!

Myth confirmed
6) Proved that the pioneer ship can be landed on the scoreplanets thus transfering all of your ship production directly to the frontline. I think this might open up a few new alliance tactics in the future.
As a sidenote...the pioneer ship is a real beast in battle. It has a lot of durability and also packs a mean punch. with the downside of it being the only thing you can produce and it costing 4,7k points. but if used smartly it can cause a lot of trouble, especially against multiple opponents that have small fleets or fleets with no actual firepower.
epic stuff.
cheers!

Yes senor ..last era, I used the pioneer ship on pre-warps that also had a WH. Also, you can put more than 1 player with pioneer ship on a single pre-warp but you have to be very careful with attack codes ...obviously.
My big gripe with the pioneer ship is the use of a fleet slot but it is quite a nice ship/remote base to have available. |

using the pioneer ship on a score planet eliminates the problem of using only 2 fleets. then you have 3 fleets of which one is static.
(someone with admin rights should move these last posts under the pioneer ships discussion thread) |

* REMEMBERS THE HIT ON A MASS OF BH FLEETS BY SOME INNOVATIVE PLAYER WITH A PIONEER SHIP wiped them all then deployed on the bh only to get wiped out by the 1st of a dozen players trying to catch the thing with a few evaps.
Not the thing for the fc to use then you got only one fleet slot to do non-alliance defensive battles with as the alliance fleet could never go to anything but another alliance base. _________________ "Destruction leads to a very rough road

if you deploy it evaps wont work against it anymore. Unless of course he forgot to recycle the p4oneer.
Congratz to nostars, you deserve the victory! And also thanks to toc and everyone else! Lets make the next era even more interesting!
Cheers!
