hi again... sorry i was ill some weeks.
......

here we go for round VI :

-> new custom made ships ! (we should discuss them )
-> balancing the existing ships
-> new features: esp. ground troops

the are hundres of ideas (thx to all players)... we should choose the best balanced ships and ideas. any help is welcome.
(i haven't read all forum entries, but i will try the next days)

Here is some of my suggestions for discussion maybe I will make a poll for some of them but anyway, as far as rebalancing goes.

The Spectre: I argued previously against changing this ship, I now have reconsidered, I believe admin would not have let this ship into the game if they had known it would have meant the end of the classic class one attack.(fighters followed by more fighters)

I noticed that most of the top scoring players were using the now very popular Wizard fleet of either all eagles and one cruiser or a variation with wasps and/spectre added in. Amazing really I think Wiz proposed this fleet in round 2 and it really took off in round 5

My suggestions for the spectre are either make it self destructing and a bit cheaper perhaps. Or, limit the amount of ships it can damage say 800- thousand. Perhaps it could be changed to the destruction effect to make it still viable. I think a poll for these ideas would be good.

Research : I understand and agree that other races researches should be longer, but I think research times are really too long for some ships. Perhaps Foreign research could be reduced by half ie 4 days for the mantis instead of 8 etc etc.
I had many many researches yet to complete and did not lose my research centre once this round (first time for everything I guess) As a result I am still unsure whether my race this round was as good as my previous one or not, I did not play as well so its hard to tell.

The Apollo Cruiser: I guess its a bit rude of me to suggest improving a ship I invented in the first place, but I think with the amount of eagles flying around and the fact it can be modified by the sporator is a reason to add 2 more ships to its destructive power, that is 10 damage to 12 ships rather than 10.

Alliances: I think relations bettween the major alliances were too friendly this round, apart from the species war there was no real big fights amongst the major allies except for the black hole stuff, which always depends on how far you are from it. I suggest a couple more things like the hole for alliances to profit from and fight over. I have suggested wormholes before, perhaps something else, like a tech planet that must be held to keep the tech or something, gee even a "How can I get more mp" planet might be fun. A slave world type of thing. Anyway I am sure other players will have plenty of ideas as well.

Please start the new round soon, I am getting frisky.

Oh I almost forgot, I think transwarp should be increased to *4 from *3 With more and more players the universe got much bigger or seemed to, I was 13 hours via transwarp from a couple of allies, so was of little use when they were attacked, always too late, then stuck far from home.

I think the cuantity of class ones destroyed by the spectre can be a maximum of 1000 per battle and maybe decrease it MP a little (becuase you can't kill 4000 fighters with one now )

Luis, THAT was TOO weird

I agree however, the Transwarp should be increased, that also would make the MTWG more desirable, considernig the trouble you get to make most of your allies to switch to defense, and then back to code again

Custom made ships... That sounds cool... Let's see...

Like a few gun-techs /1,2,3 - for class1 to 500 for class3 attack/, a few shield-techs /e.g. 1,2,3 - class1 to 1000 LP class3/ and a few *exotic* ones /shockwaves, etc.../, and each one costs a fixed mp, then you build your own ships... Now that sounds nice...

Maybe then, adding *negative* modifiers /like recycle, selfdestruct, etc./ would decrease the MP... But wouldn't THAT require too much programming?
