This ship is flawed I think.
I attempted to use it to recover alliance members and it dispatched 10 probe invaders on the opponent base?
example edited out of a BR:
yours:
45 destroyers (10/10, 8 MP)
1 alliance-invader (0/10, 6 MP)
10 pirate ship (0/5, 15 MP)

losses:
your class 2 vs enemy class 4:
you:
45 destroyers
10 pirate ship
1 alliance-invader

10 probe-troopers

I thought alliance invaders released SPY TROOPERS.
Further investigation shows flaw in the syntax and inconsistancy with the manual description as follows.

alliance-invader (class 2 ship)
this ship carries 10 spy-troopers that will use their own landing vessels to reach the surface
attack/life: 0/10
manpower: 6
researchtime: 1 d
buildingtime: 12 h
e-ray-technology
needed research:
dark tactics
battle details:
1. fights
(battle engine syntax: f)
2. creates 10 probe-troopers in your own fleet in class 1
(battle engine syntax: create,self,10,1,spy-trooper)
3. battle engine syntax: change,154,troop transport released the landing vessels

I know there were not enough troopers to breach base defence however, I really wanted to see Spy Troopers...not Probe Troopers fighting their way to the opponent base.
Will probe troopers steal alliance info or recall / disable enemy probes??
Looking at forum description where ship was first conceived it shows as follows:

Once again I perceive an inconsistency in the syntax aside from initally stating it produces 50 troopers ( really only 10 troopers released) , should they not be Spy Troopers? |

This is what I want the alliance invader to deploy
------------------------------------------------
spy-trooper (class 1 trooper)
half the members of the alliance are transferred to your com center
attack/life: 0/1
related technologies:
e-ray-technology alliance-invader
----------------------------------------------
Currently, alliance invader deploys this as per the battle report from above
probe-trooper (class 1 trooper)
this trooper destroys all probes from the probe-control in the enemy base
attack/life: 0/1
related technologies:
kazuuula-technology probe-invader
------------------------------------------------------
Also...alliance invaders are restricted to e-ray tech. THis ship should be available to all races. There is no other ship that can take the place of this ship if it was working the way it is intended.
If an alliance wanted to find out another alliance's membership or base coords, they must have an e-ray in the alliance to do this.
This makes it unfair or unbalanced to any alliance who has no e-ray in their team and is trying to identify an opponent's alliance members.
It really should be fixed because I could exploit this oversight to some very nasty tactics that could put another alliance in a very unfair disadvantage especially in CTF applications. |

Will someone please educate me on the correct interpretation of this ship or is it a bug ?
With the spawning of new large alliances, the correct use of this ship is critical to my game play right now.
After all...information is the single most effective weapon in this game and if this ship will not function as designed / intended, it deny's critical info to all players who can build.
One other thing, will the info from this ship show alliance members and co-ords or just names only ?
Maybe the ship should be re-invented and made available to all races ?
If req'd, a different ship could be added to the E-Ray to compensate their loss.. |

its really strange, the battle engine generates the wrong message somehow. it sais probe-troopers instead of spy troopers.
even in the manual the message is partly wrong:

The manual is easy to change. But if you change the syntax, it coud possibly mess everything up.
The battle engine sees probe troopers as spy troopers. If it sees spy troopers as probe troopers as well, if you change the syntax, it would think that the alliance invader would be a com-invader, seriously messing up flag grabs. _________________ [img]http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/599/kot2ks1.jpg[/img]
