I took a quick search and noticed that a topic about promoting spacetrace hasn't been discussed in nearly a year so I decided to make a new thread.
It's time to face facts: Spacetrace is not growing. Players that are playing the game at the moment (all 9 of us) are either veterans returning from a long hiatus or people that haven't left.
Spacetrace is not being promoted, and new players are not coming in.
I have a small suggestion, and that is a small "facebook" "google +" ect ect button on the front of the Spacetrace Homepage.
If all 9 of us were to "Like" and "Share" Spacetrace on our facebooks, then within hours we would have promoted the game to hundreds of people.
If after the initial promotion, we were to really help these new players the game might just stick.
Promoting the games on websites such as reddit wouldn't be such a bad idea either.
I don't expect Spacetrace to return to it's glory days but with just a small push we could potentially get the number of players back into the hundreds. _________________ Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius.

You are right about ST needing promotion Methi, and even more important is making new people stay around longer.
The admins are currently working on making the game more easy to get into by creating single-player missions that function both as a tutorial and a way to immerse players into the ST universe.
I believe that we will get back to the player numbers of the glory days and will even exceed that once the planned features are done and implemented. |

I'm very happy to hear that. Spacetrace by it's very nature is a difficult game to learn. I've often compared it to a 3d chess with a thousand pieces that move in a thousand different ways.
I totally agree that making the game easier to learn should be a priority before promoting the game. No point in having a hundred people enter the game only to leave within 48 hours. _________________ Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius.

we will start a big campaing if the achievement system is implemented, which will be this year, I think.
then we will put back the facebook button and we will add spacetrace to all available online game-sites, which is the best place to get new players |
