As we have the situation of two very good alliances(concerning to the points - no offence meant to the other alliances)
it might be hard for mewbees to cope with the situation.
as they nobody and have no knowledge of politics (which has become difficult since certain spy operations and treasons) its difficult to find a position.

i suggest:

every new logged in player is put into a newbee alliance. there is no password to that alliance so that no one can join it or be kicked from it.
so you have the possibility to make first contacts right from the beginning..
every newbee automatically gets a transwarp ( as he is far behind in research anayway)
as long as one is in that alliance he only loses half the points when losing (and the other only gets half the points) and in addition cant drop below zero points.
therefor the open tag of such players will be NEWBEE so that everyone sees it (and no tricky other guy should be able to use this open tag ).

there should be a time limit for being in that allianc so that u dont have these advantages forever...

as u see u can leave the alliance before that time limit if u want - but u cant get back into it - because noone has the password.

it will bring much more options for newbees...
and thats needed

maybe there are still somethings not good in that suggestion (-> post it) but as a basic idea it should be discussed...

peace

i like the idea, but i've got the feeling the strong alliances have more intention to battle each other for the moment. But indeed, it should be done.

Hi, i think that it is a very good idea to get started in a newbee alliance, but i dont like the 1/2 points thing.

Protection for newbees is needed because it is too hard to survive in this new endless modus. I made the experience that a lot of new players have been set on coords with up to 4 top ten players arround and they survived less than two weeks.

If u watch the number of spacetraceplayers u can recognice that, with starting the new modus, the number dropped from 600 to 240. New players had better chances with the old roundbased modus.

As a fazit of these points: every ally should be interested in recruiting unexperienced players to give them the start up they need to survive and to learn how much fun this game can make. If they do not i bet that in a year only 100 experienced players are batteling in a few allys against each other. And that wouldn´t be the Spacetrace anymore, that i think is (was) the secondbest onlinegame i ever played.

Nanny Ogg of Lancre aka Dschaganath started as Lilith in round 4.

I had no objection in having a Newbee Alliance. But I think the Newbee is going to learn faster if he join an existing Alliance.
A newbee can hardly learn for another newbee. If newbee's point cannot drop below zero, then he is not encouraged to plan his attack properly.
One possible suggestion is to give all players 10000 points in the begining.

The idea of giving 10000 points is quite strange. New members could also study the manual and the forum? This way they learn the game better, because they did it themselves.
The idea of newbee protection is a good one though.

if you want to create a n00b alliance that is ok
but not give them advantage over other players cuz then eveyone is going to be a n00b
hey i also was a n00b, and i survive, go, play, destoy and be destroyed, and then you will know how to play, if by then you havent learn, it means that you are not worthy, it is not my problem if you want to leave the game, or want to keep loosing points

n00b should start in the manual and in the forums:
http://forum.spacetrace.com/viewtopic.php?topic=1986&forum=2&11
like there for example, and then ask for help.. but do not believe everything that is told
