This is not true it will shoot into the class where it is triggerd by ! !
So if you attack a blocked Swank 1,1,40 and you will attack him with lets say 50 evaps they will shoot all C3 because they are triggerd by the cyclopse and there for shoot back into C3 _________________ Greetz Connor

Sorry but i think Connor is wrong about the first question.
Certainly you wont use evaps vs mass c1 that could destroy them. So if he has 0 c1 and 1 c2 or 0/0 would be good to use the spectre.
Here goes a little example..rarely you will have this kind of situation, al12, but it would be usefull whenever if you are actually using evaps.
0 / 1 /X/ 1.
If you battle this kind of fleet i think you will win with a 100% of security. If the c2 enemy is a spectre you will destroy all the fleet with at least 100 evaps or 50. You kill the c2 and the spectre attacks the c3, as you cant be sure of that you will get the first turn you send 2 spectres. So probably you will lose 1 spectre, but with enough evaps you will only lose 1. Why to lose 400 pts that easy? because if he has apollos, cylops, plasma or cruseros like 30 or more you will win a lot.
Now with a 0/0/X/1 and he has almost any ship, you will lose in the worst case X evaps by the X cruseros he has...having 100 evaps would be usefull, cuz then you will lose maybe 1 spectre but you kill all the c3.
Now remember, is really risky strategy. If both spectres works, you can win 2500 pts in a battle but you will lose all the evaps.
And you CAN NOT kill a c4 after cuz you will fight a 0 c3(ST works like that)

Also, what steven says is right...if you have a doubt about a ship just put it in the topic of the tecnologies, if you think it dosnt belongs to any topic there, just put it here

thanks for the help, but i have one more question: what is a 0 / 1 /X/ 1 fleet? i think the zero is class 1 where there are no ships, the 1 is class 2 where there is one ship, i think the X is class 3 but what does it mean?
and i think the last 1 is the mother ship?
am i rite about the classes? |

your class 1 vs enemy class 1: V ^
you:
2 fighters
2 evaporator
enemy:
36 fighters
5 bulk fighters
2 evaporator vs 1 bulk fighter
2 fighters vs 1 bulk fighter
4 fighters vs 2 evaporator
1 bulk fighter vs 1 fighter
1 fighter vs 1 fighter
losses:
you :
2 fighters
2 evaporator
enemy :
1 bulk fighter
score in this subbattle: -23
how is this possible, it doesn't seem like my evaporaters where triggered? |

Not exactly.
Your evaporators were a victim of the "fight" command, which is not technically a modification, as defined by "Excerpts from Spacetrace Fleet Combat Code of Conduct", Section 9.38 sub C sub 1.
I can see that you are very inquisitive about the technical details of the different ships, kudos to you.
I suggest reading the battle syntax of the ships that you do know about, then read the battle syntax of the ships that you dont know about, then practice creating your own battle syntax from the research screen. You will get the hang of how everything works fairly quickly. |
