I have a question:
If I fly towards a sector with several fleets on it and an enemy fleet (which is also an enemy fleet of the fleets at my destination sector) arrives first, but the other players log in later than I do, will I fight the original fleets? Or will the battle engine calculate all battles that would happen before, so I am not affected by that?

Anyway, I sometimes wonder why the engine only calculates when the players log in, that can be a bit strange sometimes, when you want to attack but don't know how the real fleets look like because none of the players logged in and your dsp just shows you the fleets before the fight...

the battles are calculated all in the right order

we could add a battle sequence to the probes screen too, but this would make the loading of the screen far slower, because all fleets that are in that sector have to be checked if they start battleing.

i think it is quite nice like it is.

imagine - your probes are very far away and with the speed of light it would need many years to transmit the data

It would be nice, sometimes I have sent fleets in to fight fleets that no longer exist.

ok, what if an enemy has some ships in their fleets 2 and 3, which are both at his base, and you try to attack his base, is there an order in which you fight them, or is it randomized?
